Small Business Plan Makes Profit

In the mid-sixties I had no small business plan. I was in high school I knew very little about setting goals. However, I spent some time reading "Spare Time" a magazine promoting small business startup.

I sold and recruited young people to help me sell a floral bowl and the Miracle Cloth.

Just think if I had had a small business plan, it would have taught me stability and responsibility. It's not that I didn't have any of these qualities. But in a business sense that's the reason for business plans.

Writing a simpler and less detailed version of a "Business Plan", is a 6-month plan for new or startup businesses.

Write it for two reasons-

Yourself

  • To set specific goals for your small business ideas, such as:
    1. Where you want to be
    2. How you are going to get there
    3. When you will arrive/setting goals

    Lenders

Use your plan so they can determine if they could loan your business money.

This plan will be separated into 5 parts.

    1. Statement
    2. Marketing Plan & Contact Log
    3. Direct Cost/Unit
    4. Gross Profit/Unit/Month
    5. Cash Flow Projection

Your business plan will continue to change because we live in a changing world.
