Are you wondering why no ones assisting you in setting goals? You’ll be in that same mindset a year from now if you don‘t start goal setting yourself. It’s true your family will benefit from your goals, however, if you desire self improvement remember this is a road you’re paving.

It’s necessary to have goals in this fast paced world because if you’re employed your employer expects you to put his interest first. And if you have a family you know they come first. Yet, for personal development you need to set aside some time for yourself.

You’ve made plans to start your own business or you’re presently operating one part-time. It doesn’t matter which category you’re in because setting goals will help you win. However, efforts are needed to achieve goals.

Why would a business person need a reminder? Who doesn’t understand that?

Why many fail?


  • Accepting advice from non business people
  • No support from spouse
  • Wrong market
  • Not willing to work hard
  • Afraid to fail
  • Don’t keep up with the industry

This is just the basic of hundreds of reasons for failure. But in setting goals it’s always good to know what obstacles you face. One in particular that sidetrack most business builders is procrastination. This is especially true if you work from home. Yes, it takes self-discipline to stick to goals when you have an office in your home.

Daily obstacles working at home


  • Household chores and repairs
  • Shopping
  • Errands for family or friends
  • Personal phone calls
  • Personal use of computer or television

You can reduce these snares by getting tough with yourself. And being persistence means following a written schedule. Yes, goals must be written down and read daily for the purpose of reminding ourselves of how close we are in achieving our goals.

Daily to do goals


  • Conversation with family members
  • Eat at least one meal together
  • Read a number of pages in a self improvement book
  • Read the bible
  • Exercise
  • Avoid a lot of sugar, salt or fried foods
  • Get proper rest

In addition to daily goals you can set short and long term goals. Setting goals are a part of our life but when you’re building a business achieving goals takes on a different level. However, maintaining a positive attitude is one quality that can improve your goal setting.
